Protogon Research was Founded in 2023 by Rafael Cosman, a serial entrepreneur backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund and other top VCs. We are a highly technical eight-person team from Stanford, Caltech, and UC San Diego, based today in San Diego. We value execution, long-term thinking, ambition, and ownership, and are on a mission to build the most intelligent AI systems on the planet.
